But a representative for theAce Venturastar and an executive for the French film awards are both shutting down bizarre rumors suggesting that Carrey's recent appearance at the event to accept an honorary award was faked.

"Jim Carrey attended the César Awards, where he accepted his Honorary César Award," his rep Marleah Leslie confirmed Monday in a statement toEntertainment Weekly.

Carrey, 64, gave a heartfelt speech while accepting his lifetime achievement award at the star-studded Paris event on Thursday. Over the weekend, however, conspiracy theories began to swirl online speculating that it wasn't Carrey who attended the event, but rather an impersonator.

Drag artist Alexis Stone added further fuel to the fire by suggesting that he was the one who impersonated Carrey, sharing snapshots ofEternal Sunshinestar at the ceremony as well a collection of prosthetics and makeupon Instagramon Sunday. Stone has previously impersonated celebs likeLana Del Rey,Donatella Versace, andAdele.

But Gregory Caulier, the general delegate of the César Awards, has also debunked the rumors about Carrey's attendance.

"Jim Carrey's visit has been planned since this summer,"Caulier toldVariety. "From the outset, he was extremely touched by the Academy's invitation. Eight months of ongoing, constructive discussions. He worked on his speech in French for months, asking me about the exact pronunciation of certain words."

Caulier explained that Carrey was joined at the event by his partner, daughter, grandson, and 12 of his closest friends and family members. "His longtime publicist accompanied him," he continued. "His old friend Michel Gondry, who has made a film and two series with him, was there, and they were delighted to see each other again."

Caulier concluded, "For me, it's a non-issue. I just remember his generosity, his kindness, his benevolence, his elegance."

Commanders to release four-time Pro Bowl CB Marshon Lattimore

TheWashington Commandersare moving on from one of their former marquee acquisitions.

USA TODAY Sports

The team has informed cornerbackMarshon Lattimoreit will release him before the start of the new league year on March 11, ESPN'sAdam Schefter reportedMonday.

Lattimore had been set to have an $18.5 million cap hit for 2026. Instead, Washington wiped that figure out entirely by moving on from him prior to the final year of his contract.

TheCommandersacquired Lattimore at the 2024 trade deadline, sending third-, fourth- and sixth-round picks to theNew Orleans Saintsin exchange for the four-time Pro Bowl selection. The move to secure him marked the first of several bold veteran additions to boost a team that two seasons ago made a surprising run to the NFC championship game.

His time in Washington, however, fell well short of the team's expectations. In 2024, he played in just two games for the team after the trade due to a hamstring injury. Prior to suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in November, Lattimore struggled for much of last fall, allowing a 93.3 passer rating when targeted in coverage, according to Next Gen Stats. That marked the second-worst figure of his career.

Lattimore in January wasarrested in Ohioand charged with a felony count of improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and carrying concealed weapons.

Commanders general manager Adam Peters said atthe NFL scouting combinelast week that the team was still going through the process of evaluating things with Lattimore.

"We haven't made a final decision there," Peters said of Lattimore "There's a lot of things that go into that, and we still have a few more conversations. Until then, he's still on our team."

NFL team made 'get arrested' joke to Fernando Mendoza in hopes he'd slide in 2026 draft

Most NFL teams discourage prospects from ending up in jail, but Fernando Mendoza revealed that one team was telling him to try and end up behind bars.

The end goal?

Allowing him to drop a bit in the draft, presumably so that the team could take Mendoza.

The Indiana quarterback is projected to go No. 1 overall after helping to lead the Hoosiers to a national championship this past season, and plenty of NFL teams would do just about anything for the chance to draft Mendoza.

Speaking with CBS Sports on Friday, Mendoza said one team jokingly suggested he get himself arrested to fall down the draft board.

"It was, 'hey, maybe you should get arrested,' and I was a little confused, but then I was like, the slide … so you could slide in the draft," Mendoza responded when asked what the strangest question he'd gotten at the NFL combine was.

Mendoza added later: "So, hopefully I don't get arrested."

The future NFL star didn't reveal what team it was that made the comment, though he did indicate it was not said during a formal interview.

Mendoza received quite the reception while at the combine in Indianapolis.

The Heisman Trophy winner was given a loud cheer from the fans inside Lucas Oil Stadium last Sunday when he showed up in the building.

Mendoza did not participate in any drills at the combine, but he joined the other quarterbacks on the field during the position group's on-field testing.

Mendoza threw for 3,535 yards and 41 touchdowns this past season, while also throwing just six interceptions.

The draft will take place from April 23-25 in Pittsburgh, with the Raiders, Jets and Cardinals slated to make the first three picks.

Another three-peat for Michael Jordan as Tyler Reddick makes NASCAR history for NBA legend

AUSTIN, Texas — Tyler Reddick's latest win drove him straight into the NASCAR record books.

Reddick held off hard-charging Shane van Gisbergen over the final 20 laps at the Circuit of the Americas on Sunday to become the first Cup Series driver to win the first three races of the season.

Driving a Toyota co-owned by Michael Jordan, Reddick won the season-opening Daytona 500 and a week later at Atlanta, then won from the pole in the first road course race of the year.

Jordan, the basketball Hall of Famer and six-time NBA champion, was with Reddick's 23XI pit crew exchanging high fives as Reddick crossed the finish line.

"It's one race, but it was so important," Reddick said. "It's so fitting to get three in a row and make history."

History made for a team and ownership group that has been making a lot of it. They took on NASCAR with a federal antitrust lawsuit. The settlement in December and was considered a major legal victory that secured a permanent franchise-style model and ensured the team would remain in business for the long-term.

They've been unbeatable on the race track ever since.

"I'm proud of the team we put together," Jordan said. He credited co-owner Denny Hamlin, who also is a driver for Joe Gibbs Racing, with being the "mastermind" behind it's racing success.

"I just put up the money," Jordan said. "Denny's done an incredible job building this team."

Jordan also said he'll be at the next race in Phoenix to see if Reddick can extend the winning streak that has built a commanding 70-point lead in the drivers' championship.

Van Gisbergen, who won five of six road course races in 2025, lost his bid for a record-tying sixth consecutive road win. The only road course race the Trackhouse driver didn't win last season was in Austin.

"Tyler was just amazing," van Gisbergen said. "You're always disappointed with second when the expectations are so high."

Reddick was just too good all weekend in pursuit of history. His 11th career victory was also his second at COTA, a track built for Formula 1, and the first time he's had multiple victories at a track. He won at COTA in 2023.

It was far from easy, even if Reddick looked like he was in complete control. Van Gisbergen was on his bumper for several laps in the final stage, but never found the pace to pass before falling farther and farther behind over the final six laps.

"I was just trying to minimize mistakes, Shane is so good," Reddick said.

Jordan, so clutch in his playing days, noted Reddick was cool in the driver's seat while under immense pressure.

"You see SVG coming back, you get a little nervous, but I think he had him covered the whole day," Jordan said.
